Gordon Aatlo to debut new jewelry at the AGTA GemFair

The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) GemFair in Las Vegas kicks off Thursday, June 3 – one day before JCK Las Vegas – through Monday, June 7. Gordon Aatlo will be displaying his distinctive jewelry collection at booth 34480.

Visitors to Gordon’s booth will be pleased with the selection of pieces from his Couture Collection, along with the debut of brand new rings (photo above) from his Modern Classics Collection. The intricately detailed rings will be displayed at the show in 18k, 14k white or yellow gold, and each includes a magnificent colored gemstone and diamond accents.

The stunning cuff bracelets shown in photos below are from the Couture Collection. They are similar in design structure, yet finished remarkably different through the use of gemstones. The top bracelet shown is 18k and platinum with luminous yellow-green quartz, blue sapphires and diamonds. The bracelet just below it is also 18k and platinum, but features sparkling diamonds and a dazzling 22-carat tanzanite.

In creating most of his jewelry, Gordon uses the inspiration of a spectacular gemstone and designs the actual piece of jewelry around that. He then makes each item himself. Gordon mainly uses colored gemstones, 18k, 14k and platinum. Know for his modern designs, most of his jewelry is actually one-of-a-kind, which allows clients to create a collection that is exclusive to them.

Jewelry aficionados who are on top of all the latest color styles will truly enjoy Gordon’s display at the AGTA GemFair. Further information on the AGTA GemFair can be found by clicking the following link: http://agta.org/tradeshows/gemfair-las-vegas.html

The Contemporary Jewelry Design Group's New Web Site

The renowned Contemporary Jewelry Design Group (CJDG) has launched a comprehensive new Web site located at CJDGjewelers.org. The CJDG, in which Gordon Aatlo is a member, is an association committed to supporting and promoting innovative jewelry design.

Some of the finest American jewelry designers, including Diana Widman, Vicky Riggs, Denny Wong, Aaron Henry Furlong, Gordon Aatlo and about 35 others, are profiled in an area of the Web site dedicated to CJDG members. Gordon’s section features photos of his distinctive orbit rings, along with his eye-catching pendants and bracelets. In addition, a link to Gordon’s blog is highlighted in the “Designer Blog Index” on the homepage of the CJDG Web site.

An area of the new Web site is devoted to longer-form profiles of CJDG members. A recent profile was done on Aaron Henry Furlong and how he uses triathlons to achieve greater focus in his jewelry design. Vicente Agor contributed an article about his latest collection, which is inspired by his father’s photos of Antarctica in the 1970s and 1980s. A portion of the proceeds from Agor’s collection are donated to The Antarctica Project.

Another highlight of the CJDG’s new Web site is the “Trendwatch” section, featuring the latest movements and inspiration in jewelry design. Titled “The Right to Bare Arms,” one article in the “Trendwatch” section features a wide-ranging look at different styles in cuff bracelets. Another area in “Trendwatch” showcases photos of rings, brooches and earrings that are modeled after the smooth lines and bold colors of flowers.

The CJDG is a group of gifted designers who hold a dedication to integrity in the business and design of jewelry. Don’t miss the “About” section of their Web site if you’re interested in joining the association, checking out who has earned CJDG awards, catching the latest trunk shows or learning about the CJDG executive board.

Who?

The thought occured to me, if you just came about this blog, you are hearing about me for the first time. I am a designer of fine jewelry.  I work on all of my own projects, in my own studios. Custom design is my specialty and I am considered a master goldsmith and platinumsmith. I work with clients on all types of jewelry and design alot of engagement and wedding rings. My styles vary, from very modern and cutting edge, traditional and some that reflect another era.

I also work on designs that are a result of my own ideas.  I like to experiment with different design ideas and love colored gemstones. I hope you will check back on the blog often where I will show new designs, along with posting items that are of interest.

The Beginning....

Welcome to what has been a project that has been on the drawing board for awhile.  Here, new products will be introduced and events will be announced as well as information that is interesting and useful to those who enjoy design, fine jewelry and art.  Since the blog is something new for us, pictured is a custom made engagement ring, the ultimate symbol of new beginnings!

The ring was designed around the center stone, a three-quarter carat emerald cut diamond. Diamonds are set on the top and sides of the setting as well as in the shank of the ring; the sides are hand engraved.

A perfect combination of a modern and classic design and the perfect piece to symbolize a new beginning. We hope to engage you on our blog site and if you have any comments or questions, let us know.
